As a parent led non profit that is focused to bring more than just quality lacrosse to the Charleston area, we believe in our youth and our community.

Anne Bennett– CNL Director of Sponsorship & Fundraising, Founder of Pass It Forward Sports

Anne was instrumental in bringing girls lacrosse to Charleston. As the first head coach to Ashley Hall’s Varsity lacrosse team she was on the ground floor of the Charleston game. Following this achievement, she then continued on to create Play it Forward Sports, a non profit that focused on the collection and disbursement of used sports equipment. Eric Strickland- CNL Treasurer & Founder of Horizons at Ashley Hall

Eric is a dedicated family and community man. He was instrumental in developing relationships on and off the fields with players and parents involved in the Friday Night Lights program. This led to the creation of Cusabo Scholars and Horizons at Ashley Hall. Eric operates a commodities trading firm, but is a teacher at heart. He and his family love to play various sports and are happy to call Charleston home!

 

Courtney Rowson- CNL Director of Marketing & Communications

Courtney is a designer and co-founder of Stitch Design Co. With over 13 years in the design field, she executes projects that show an appreciation for conceptual thinking, clean execution and attention to detail. Courtney returned to the South after a stint in San Francisco, where she had the experience of working on brand development for a wide range of clients, both large and small, and was able to indulge in her love of food! She has been instrumental in designing marketing materials and a new website for Cusabo. Additionally, she is dedicated to coaching girls lacrosse each spring in the City of Charleston’s Lacrosse Rec League that is sponsored and managed by Cusabo Nation Lacrosse. Courtney is a an instrumental leader in growing girls lacrosse in Charleston.

 

Richard Moxley- CNL Director of Risk, Safety & Commissioners

Richard is a lacrosse parent and a player! He is active in community outreach and soliciting schools and players to become active in all CNL Lacrosse programs. His professional background is the insurance industry and brings a wealth of knowledge to CNL’s risk and safety procedures. Rich’s two sons have played lacrosse for years. His passion for teamwork and dedication to hard work comes out in his coaching philosophy. Rich demonstrates the three feathers of Dedication, Teamwork and Fun. His area of focus for CNL is to grow the game on John’s Island.

 

Donovan Smith- CNL Founding Member – Secretary

Donovan has several children that play lacrosse and has coached for over ten years as a volunteer in the City of Charleston Rec department as a football, soccer, and lacrosse coach. As a real estate investor he travels extensively, but makes the time each fall and spring to coach players in our community. As a founding member of Cusabo, Donovan has been instrumental in its growth and direction.

 

Dan Russler CNL Founding Member – Vice President
Dan and his family are avid sports participants. Dan has children that play lacrosse, basketball, and football. Dan’s involvement with the Charleston City Rec Department through football, basketball, and lacrosse has been an instrumental part of our coming into formation. Dan has a real passion around developing this great sport of lacrosse in the Greater Charleston and downtown area. He also has a vision to increase  diversity of players in the game so that it creates new opportunities for many.

 

Robert Hagood- CNL Founding Member – President
Robert had the opportunity to play lacrosse in high school in Pennsylvania. Playing on several teams in Pennsylvania was foundational to his love of the sport. For the over a decade he has volunteered as a coach in the Mt. Pleasant and Charleston Rec Department leagues. As a father of both girls and boys, he is very interested in ensuring the sport of lacrosse grows and becomes a part of the lives of all of our Charleston youth. What a game! Lax is ON.
